EarthX

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on environmental education and awareness, EARTHx has created the world’s largest annual forum for sharing the latest initiatives, discoveries, research, innovations, policies, and corporate practices that are reshaping our world.

This three-day free event is held in April to celebrate progress, hope, and innovation and is the largest event in the world of its kind. EARTHx brings together environmental organizations, businesses, academic institutions, government agencies, speakers, interactive programming, and subject matter experts along with live music and sustainable beer and food pavilions. EARTHx creates a fun and engaging atmosphere for thought and experiential learning while encouraging attendees to be the change they wish to see in the world.

What started in 2011 as an outdoor event spanning five blocks of Flora Street in Dallas’ Arts District grew to occupy approximately one million square feet of indoor and outdoor event space in Dallas’ historic Fair Park. In 2017, EARTHx hosted more than 100,000 attendees, over 900 exhibitors and 260 speakers, becoming the largest annual environmental exhibition and programming initiative in the world.

While many of our efforts are centered on our EARTHxevent in April, EARTHx has also launched numerous year-round events to generate additional awareness and inspire people to get involved and help make a difference.  These events include networking receptions with speaker panels, forums, film series, volunteer opportunities and environmental projects.

EARTHx continues to present attendees and participants with breakthrough solutions and fascinating innovations that will empower them to make a difference in their communities and the world – 365 days a year.

Dallas Women's Foundation: Leadership Forum & Awards Dinner

2018 Leadership Forum & Awards Dinner

On April 19 at the Omni Dallas Hotel, Dallas Women’s Foundation will once again honor the accomplishments of some of our community’s most courageous individuals: women who have catalyzed change for women and girls in North Texas, and a Young Leader who has shown breakthrough leadership and success and is creating a path of opportunity for other women to follow.

Join us as we celebrate these remarkable women, and support our commitment to making progress for leadership for women and girls!

Featuring Keynote Speaker Nina Tassler

Nina Tassler most recently served as the chairwoman for CBS Entertainment.  Under Tassler’s watch, CBS enjoyed a strong run of industry-leading ratings, including being the most-watched network for 12 of the past 13 years. Her tenure includes a long list of hit series, including comedies The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother, as well as dramas such as The Good Wife and the CSI and NCIS franchises (which she developed as head of the drama department before taking over the entertainment division).  Tassler has also been included in an annual list of The Most Powerful and Influential Latinos in Entertainment by The Imagen Foundation in 2011 and again in 2013.

Hear from our 2017 Award Recipients on how we can continue to empower and advocate for women and girls.

EarthxFilm: Albatross Screening

Albatross is a powerful visual journey by internationally acclaimed photographic artist Chris Jordan (www.chrisjordan.com). In his filmmaking debut, Jordan documents the cycles of life and death, and captures stunning and intimate portraits of these magnificent seabirds, which are being devastated by plastic pollution. Screening this film in the ethereal calm of the Dallas Contemporary will enhance the visual aesthetic of this film, which steps outside the stylistic templates of traditional documentary filmmaking. Join us on this emotional journey of discomfort, reverence and renewal.
