Sharon loves a party. Event planning was never her intended path, but from early in her career, she quickly discovered she thrives on the thrill of live production.
She is the founder and president of Ensemble, an experiential design and event production studio based in Dallas, TX. Ensemble works with clients to build programs, experiences, and activations to help tell the stories of their missions in ways that stick with people. Prior to starting Ensemble, she co-founded Public City, a community engagement firm, which she co-led from 2013-2017.
Way, way back, Sharon started her career as a fundraiser in San Antonio, TX; went back to school for her MBA at UT Austin; and (tale as old as time…) ended up loving Austin so much she stayed and landed a killer job working with creative dynamos at the brand/marketing shop Arrow.
An invitation to co-found and run TEDxSMU and TEDxKids @SMU in 2009 prompted a move back to Dallas. What started out as a five-month, one-time project turned into four years working for TEDxSMU (with some side hustle gigs at TED along the way). Her time working in the TED universe built the foundation to launch her own company.
Currently, Sharon serves on the boards of Housing Forward and St. John’s Eposicopal School. She is also a member of the Dallas Assembly. She’s big on collaboration, team, community, and creativity. She's bullish on Dallas, her home base, where she lives with husband, Mark; son, Bennett; and two incorrigible and indefatigable dogs, Twist and Dash.
